ORIENTATION INFORMATION & REGISTRATION

New Freshman

New Student Orientation will help prepare you for your transition to Coastal Georgia. This *required* session is designed specifically for students who have graduated from high school. At orientation, you will meet your fellow new Mariners, take a campus tour, and tie up any loose ends before you return to campus for classes to start. The session runs from approximately 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., so be sure to plan accordingly. During your session, you will:

  • Connect with College faculty, staff, and other students
  • Learn more about academic advising with other students who share your major
  • Learn how to navigate your student portal, email, and other campus platforms
  • Receive your schedule for your first semester of classes
  • Receive more information about student services, including your Mariner Access Card, meal plans and parking options
  • Explore Coastal Georgia departments and organizations, including student health, accessibility services, student life, technology services, academic advising and career services, student support services, and more
  • Have the opportunity to schedule an individual consultation with a financial aid counselor
  • Special track designed specifically for parents and families of Coastal Georgia students

Want to experience what it will be like living in the residence halls? We have an exciting “Overnight Orientation” option where you can come the evening before, meet your orientation group early, and stay in the halls with us overnight. Sign up for this option when you register, and we will send you more information.

*Please Note, all freshmen must also complete Navigate Online before attending their orientation date.

As a transfer student, we know you have different needs than a new freshman. That’s why we’ve designed a specific orientation session just for you. Transfer orientation is designed for students who have been to one or more colleges after graduating high school. The session pairs you with an orientation leader who will guide you through the things you need to know to successfully transition to your new Mariner life. You will leave the session with a better understanding of how your new College operates, where to go when you need support services, and making a few new friends along the way.

  • Connect with College faculty, staff, and other students

  • Learn more about academic advising with other students who share your major
  • Learn how to navigate your student portal, email, and other campus platforms

Windward Scholar Orientation is *required* for qualifying students, and runs approximately from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to plan accordingly. Please note, students who are Windward Scholars but starting in Summer should sign up for Freshman Orientation.

Dual Enrollment Students

As a dual-enrolled student, we understand your needs are unique. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve outlined a few important steps and expectations for you as you get ready for orientation. Before attending orientation, you must work with your high school counselor and Mr. Linny Bailey in Compass Academic Advising to complete the registration form and receive your course schedule. Once you’ve been registered for courses, you will automatically be assigned to a required dual enrollment orientation session. You’ll receive more information about your orientation session via email once your registration is complete.

Dual Enrollment Orientation will help you:

  • Connect with College faculty, staff, and fellow dual-enrolled students
  • Learn about academic advising and how it relates to your dual enrollment experience
  • Get familiar with your student portal, email, and other important campus platforms
  • Discover student services available to you, including meal plans, parking options, and more
  • Explore important departments, such as student health, academic advising, career services, and student support
  • Schedule a one-on-one session with a financial aid counselor, if needed

Orientation is designed to ensure you are prepared for success at Coastal Georgia, with everything you need to make the most of your college experience. The session is required, and we’re excited to guide you through this journey!

If you have any questions or need help with registration, please reach out to Mr. Linny Bailey, Dual Enrollment Advisor, at 912-279-4547, or lbailey@ccga.edu.

Coastal Online Students

As a Coastal Online student, meaning you have chosen a program of study that is fully online, you have a two-step process for registration and orientation. First, your next step towards enrollment is completing the Newly Admitted Student Advisor Connection Form. Completing this form allows our COMPASS Career and Academic Advising Office to connect you with your assigned academic advisor. They will work with you in setting up your course schedule. Class capacities are limited, so the sooner you complete the form, the better your chances are of getting the schedule you desire. Click the button below to get started!

Access Form Here

*Note: To access the enrollment form, you need need to log in with your MyCCGA Student Portal log-in information. Your username is your Coastal Georgia Student ID.

Next, you are required to complete Coastal Online Navigate. NAVIGATE is a fully online, interactive module which allows new students to learn about the College of Coastal Georgia and the resources available to them as an incoming student. Completing NAVIGATE is a required step in participating in orientation. Badges are earned at the end of each phase of the module, which will contribute to a hint which helps solve a fun campus riddle. Access Navigate here.

Please note: Students who are attending the College of Coastal Georgia but taking courses online (not through a Coastal Online program), are encouraged to attend orientation. If you are not able to attend orientation, we invite you to reach out to the COMPASS Academic Advising Center for instructions on how to connect with your advisor for registration.
