The College of Coastal Georgia continues to be recognized by the Military Times as one of the colleges that is BEST FOR VETS. We are deeply committed to supporting our Veteran students with the same dedication we offer all of our students – ensuring that they have access to every resource needed for success.
Our recruitment practices reflect our values of integrity and student-centered service. We strictly follow national standards, including the NACAC Code of Ethics and Professional Practices (CEPP) and AACRAO’s Guidelines for Recruiting and Admissions. These standards promote transparency, respect for student choice, and prohibit high-pressure tactics.
We do not engage in same-day recruitment and enrollment, nor do we make excessive unsolicited contact with prospective students, including Service members. Our staff is trained to support informed decision-making, and to avoid any form of coercive outreach.
In addition to certifying VA education benefits, we offer a range of financial support options, including Federal Student Aid, Institutional Scholarships, and State-Funded assistance. Our office includes a dedicated Veteran Affairs Certifying Official to help students navigate their VA benefits, as well as financial aid counselors who are available to assist with all other forms of aid.
Active-duty Service members may be eligible for Military Tuition Assistance (TA), which can cover up to 100% of tuition costs. The application process and eligibility requirements vary by branch.
Note: Per federal policy, TA funds must be applied before Pell Grant funds. This ensures compliance with Department of Defense regulations.
Service-Specific TA Portals:
Prior Approval Required for Tuition Assistance:
Active-duty Service members who plan to use Tuition Assistance (TA) must obtain approval from their Education Service Officer (ESO) or military counselor before enrolling at the College of Coastal Georgia. Enrollment cannot be completed without this prior authorization.
For questions about using TA or submitting your authorization, please contact our Bursar’s Office via email at bursarsoffice@ccga.edu, or via phone at 912-279-5746.

The Office of Financial Aid requires that all students who would like to receive financial aid for summer semester must submit a separate summer application.
Payment is due the day a student registers for courses if the student does not have enough financial aid to cover the current semester’s balance. If payment is not made at the beginning of the semester, the student’s courses may be dropped for non-payment and a late payment fee will be charged if courses are reinstated.
If a student has Veterans Benefits, they may be required to make payment at the time they have registered depending on the type of benefits they have and at what percentage those benefits are covered.
All payments are made to the Bursar’s Office located on the first floor of the Andrews Center.
A valid FAFSA, processed by the U.S. Department of Education, is required for the FAO to determine whether you qualify for federal aid. In order to complete the FAFSA, you must have already filed your federal tax returns for both student or student and parent if the annual income warrants having to file a return.
A bookstore credit will be available for use in the College’s bookstore if you have pre-registered, have financial aid in excess of the tuition and fees posted to your account, and do not have a previous balance. To receive the credit, you must authorize the College to do so in your COAST account. The bookstore credit will be available for at least four to five business days before the semester begins, and will expire at the close of business the day after drop/add.
Once full attendance verification is complete, your financial aid will be disbursed to your account (minus any bookstore charges). If this disbursement creates a credit balance on your student account, the Bursar’s Office will review it to determine if you are eligible for a refund. This will be determined based on factors such as your enrollment status and the amount of prior balances on your account. If you are eligible to receive the credit balance, it will be refunded to you.
Questions regarding your financial aid award should be directed to finaid@ccga.edu, or 912-279-5722. Questions regarding your refund, the MAC Card, or payments should be directed to the Bursar’s Office at 912-279-5746.
Hours Needed for Disbursement to Occur |
|
---|---|
Pell Grant & Teach Scholarships | Federal Grants are prorated based on the number of hours of enrollment. For example, half the amount is disbursed if a student is only enrolled half-time (6 credit hours). |
Stafford & PLUS Loans | Student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours. |
It is highly recommended that you check your COAST account and your student email often. Make sure your fees are paid by the fee payment deadline.
Veterans and dependents, if you are applying for VA Education Benefits for the first time, please note the following guidelines:
In addition to the general admission procedures, students applying for veterans benefits will need to take some additional steps.
The College has two veterans’ lounges available for students to utilize for quiet studying options and to meet other military students. One is located on the Brunswick Campus – the other at the Camden Center.

At the College of Coastal Georgia, we celebrate our diverse student population. Our students represent many races, ethnicities, nationalities, and cultures – all of which enhance our community.
Coastal Georgia works to foster and encourage a military community, whether on campus, online, or overseas. We work to support our military community by providing military and veteran students with resources and services developed to help them succeed.
The Office of Counseling Services offers individual counseling with a focus on helping students eliminate barriers to academic success. Students seeking personal counseling must be enrolled for four or more hours and must be currently attending class at the time counseling is sought. Students requiring or requesting long-term or intensive therapy will be referred to off-campus providers and support groups as appropriate.
The Office of Counseling Services provides a comprehensive program of services designed to:
Provide personal counseling to students who are experiencing personal problems which may be interfering with their adjustment to college.
Accessibility Services coordinates and provides a variety of services for students with physical and learning disabilities. Our aim is to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to all programs offered at the College of Coastal Georgia.
