I have already been notified that I received a scholarship for 2024-2025 from Coastal Georgia. If I am selected for one of the premier scholarships, can I “stack” the awards and receive both scholarships?

No. Coastal Georgia scholarships are not “stackable.” If you have already received a scholarship from the College, and you are chosen for one of the premier scholarships, we will apply the larger of the two awards.

What is the schedule for the day?

Check in will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Gould Memorial Library. Interviews will begin at 11 a.m. Candidates will participate in one round of interviews with a small panel of Coastal faculty and staff. Interviews should end no later than 5 p.m.

What If I’m attending the Accepted Student Day event that same day? Do I have to check in? When will I get my interview time?

We welcome and encourage invitees to attend Accepted Student Day. Those attending the Accepted Student Day event will receive their scholarship interview time when they check into the Accepted Student Day event that morning.

Do I have to attend Accepted Student Day to participate in the Scholarship Interview program?

Although it is strongly encouraged, students participating in the Interview Day do not have to participate in the Accepted Student Day event.

Will I know if I won a scholarship that day?

No. Interview scores will be tabulated at the end of the day, and the College Scholarship Committee will make the final decisions. Candidates will be notified of their status via email on or before Wednesday, April 24.

What if I’m not chosen for a scholarship this day?

The College’s premier scholarships are highly competitive. Students who attend Scholarship Interview Day but are not selected for a premier scholarship will be given “priority review” for other Coastal Georgia scholarships in our review process.

What if I was invited but can’t make it to campus that day?

It is strongly recommended that students attend the Scholarship Interview Day event in person. Virtual participation may be granted if the student is able to document a compelling reason why they are unable to attend. This may include transportation challenges, sanctioned school events, illness, etc. Requests for virtual participation may be sent to studentaffairs@ccga.edu and must be received by 12 noon on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

How should I prepare?

Spend a little time reflecting on your achievements and contributions during your high school years and your plans for the future. Panelists may ask you questions similar to this:

  • Tell me a little about yourself.
  • Why are you interested in the College of Coastal Georgia?
  • Do you know what you plan to major in? Why are you interested in that field?
  • What has been your biggest challenge in high school so far? What has come easy to you?
  • Tell me about your proudest moment.
  • What do you think will be most challenging about college?
  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

What should I wear?

It is recommended that participants dress in business casual attire. T-Shirts, shorts, sweatpants, athletic wear, etc. is not appropriate for this event.
