Submissions of prose, poetry, and art will be accepted from September 1 to February 1. All submissions must be original, previously unpublished work, and emailed as an attachment to seaswells@ccga.edu. The body of the submission(s) email should contain the title(s) of the submitted work, the author's name, CCGA ID number, email address, and an approximately 50-word biographical statement. Students are encouraged to submit work in multiple genres, but, if submitting in more than one genre, they should compose separate emails. The specific submission procedures for each genre are detailed below, and all submissions will be judged anonymously.
Prose
Students can submit up to two prose pieces of no more than 5,000 words each. Prose submissions must be in .doc or .docx format, double-spaced with page numbers, and use 12-point standard font and 1-inch margins. Exceptions are allowed for experimental work, but students should indicate in their email if the work is, in fact, experimental in nature. All prose submissions will automatically be nominated for the Austin/Garner Prose Award.
Poetry
Students can submit up to five poems of no more than 1,000 words each. Poetry submissions must be in .doc or .docx format, single-spaced with one poem per page, and use 12-point standard font and 1-inch margins. Exceptions are allowed for experimental work, but students should indicate in their email if the work is, in fact, experimental in nature. All poetry submissions will automatically be nominated for the Barr Poetry Award.
Art
Students can submit up to 10 pieces of artwork. Art submissions must be high-quality digital files, formatted as 300-DPI .jpeg(s). Students should list the materials (e.g. clay, watercolor, etc.) used for their art submission(s) in the body of the email. All art submissions will automatically be nominated for the issue's cover image.
