As a part-time instructor, I currently teach Coastal Zone Management and Plants and Society. Previously, I have taught Sustainability, Aquatic Ecology, Marine Biology, and Introduction to Biology. Topics for the above courses include coastal policy, the diversity and ecology of plants, animals, and microorganisms that live in aquatic systems, an introduction to the marine environment, survey of the general marine habitats and organisms that occupy those habitats, early Earth and diversity of life, the functional anatomy and physiology of representative species, ecology, and conservation biology.

My full-time position is Manager of the Georgia Coastal Management Program with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division. These positions intersect by providing internship opportunities for students at CCGA while providing leadership, connecting them with opportunities, and mentoring them through graduation and beyond.

My teaching interests focus on health sciences, evidence-based practice, and the development of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. I emphasize helping students evaluate information rigorously, question assumptions, and apply scientific and analytical thinking to real-world health and professional contexts.

My scholarly interests include healthcare systems, professional values, and organizational factors influencing outcomes in clinical environments. In November 2018, I co-presented the research project, “Impact of Social Responsibility Values on Employee Satisfaction in Physical Therapy Outpatient Practice,” at the Meeting of the Southern Management Association in Lexington, KY.

Teaching and Training Interests:
My teaching centers on applied artificial intelligence (AI) literacy and responsible implementation to help learners move from AI awareness to confident, ethical practice. Primary areas include generative AI in business and higher education; prompt engineering and workflow design; AI governance, ethics, bias, privacy, and accessibility; organizational strategy and chance management; and practical AI use cases that improve operations, decision-making, and workforce outcomes.

Research/Practice Interests:
My scholarship and applied inquiry focus on how organizations build sustainable AI capability: governance models and guardrails; human-centered adoption and culture change; measurable impacts of AI-enabled workflows; AI’s role in accessibility and inclusive support; and translating fast-moving AI developments into practical, trustworthy institutional strategy.

In the Radiologic Sciences discipline, my teaching preference concerns the sciences, e.g., rad physics, rad bio, rad safety. My experience includes rad procedures, intro to radiography, A&P, patient care, medical terminology. I followed the thesis tract, working towards my MHS degree. My thesis hypothesis: There is a significant difference in the level of health for retirees who choose to retire vs. retirees who do not choose to retire. I employed the Tennessee Self Concept Scale instrument, given to the retirees of the city of Montgomery, Alabama, to include: law enforcement, fire department, sanitation, and maintenance. (1989)
