A Celebration of Transfer Students and the Professionals Who Support Them

The College of Coastal Georgia is proud to join institutions across the country in celebrating National Student Transfer Week, taking place from Oct. 20 – 24, 2025. This annual event, organized by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS), highlights the achievements and contributions of transfer students and the professionals who support them.

Throughout the week, Coastal Georgia will host a series of events and activities designed to welcome and recognize transfer students, and provide resources for prospective transfers.

Francis Millen, ’27
Francis Millen, Transfer Week
College of Coastal Georgia student Francis Millen became the first Mariner to join the Georgia Legislative Internship Program, gaining hands-on experience with the inner workings of the state General Assembly. His internship in House Media Services gave him a front-row seat to the legislative process and solidified his passion for a future career in politics and public service.
Reid Kroken, ’25
Reid Kroken, Transfer Week
After transferring to the College of Coastal Georgia, Reid Kroken, ’25, discovered her passion for marine science and a community that felt like home. Her hands-on research and academic excellence earned her the honor of representing Coastal at the University System of Georgia’s Academic Recognition Day.
Bryce Unterwagner, ’23
Bryce Unterwagner, Transfer Week
After transferring to the College of Coastal Georgia to pursue criminal justice, Bryce Unterwagner, ’23, found his calling in federal law enforcement. Now a special agent with the U.S. Capitol Police’s Dignitary Protection Division, he’s protecting national leaders in Washington, D.C., and has already made history as the first-ever recipient of the John Gibson Award.
Eva Rubio, ’22
Eva Rubio, Transfer Week
Eva Rubio came to the U.S. from Spain to pursue her love of tennis while earning her degree, and she found both at the College of Coastal Georgia. Graduating with a Business Administration degree and as the No. 1 women’s tennis player, Eva embraced new experiences on and off the court while preparing for her next chapter in graduate school.
Tammy Fields, ’20
Tammy Fields, Transfer Week
Tammy Fields graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Business Administration at age 54, completing a long journey to earn her degree while balancing family, work, and life. She now gives back by establishing the Fields Non-Traditional Student Scholarship to support other non-traditional students following a similar path.
