By: Tedi Rountree

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® will stroll onto the College of Coastal Georgia’s campus in October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Walk, hosted by the College of Coastal Georgia Student Health Center, is part of The International Men’s March to stop, rape, sex assault, and gender violence.

On October 18, starting at 10 a.m., male participants will walk around campus in high heels or shoes, starting at the College’s Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Health and Science building, through the academic commons areas, to the Campus Center and back. The Walk is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in their community about the serious problem of sexual assault and domestic violence against women. A supply of heels and shoes will be available for participants.

The community is invited to cheer on the men as they walk and are encouraged to remain for special guest speakers, visit vendor tables, and participate in other activities.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. the day of the event, and the Walk begins at 10 a.m. Register early at www.EventBright.com and search for “Walk A Mile.”
