BRUNSWICK, GA., March 21, 2018—Students taking classes this summer at the College of Coastal Georgia just got some very good news. For the first time since 2011, the federal Pell Grant will be offered during the summer semester to pell eligible, year-round students.

“The return of summer Pell awards is truly cause for celebration,” said Director of Financial Aid Terri Harris. “Eligible Coastal Georgia students can use a summer session Pell grant to minimize their higher education debt and maximize the speed at which they can attain their degree. It’s a win all around.”

Harris said that students needed to act quickly to take advantage of the Pell grant opportunity for the summer semester.

To apply for the Pell grant and other summer Financial Aid, students must first be admitted to the College and registered for summer classes. Students new to the College may begin the admissions process by visiting www.ccga.edu/admissions. After registering for classes, new and returning students should complete a free application for federal student aid (FAFSA). Instructions and links to FAFSA information can be found at www.CCGA.edu/financialaid.

The Pell Grant is a federal need-based program that offers grants to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree. The program is administered by the U.S. Department of Education.

Students with questions about their eligibility can contact the College’s financial aid office at finaid@ccga.edu or (912) 279-5722.
