Yesterday, the College of Coastal Georgia held a reception for the recipient of the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship, which covers tuition for the fall and spring semesters for one year, was awarded to Junior Chris Campbell.

At the reception, Interim President Meg Amstutz introduced the Foundation’s Executive Director and General Counsel Fred B. Kitchens, Jr. Kitchens and Amstutz both praised Campbell for his hard work in and out of the classroom. Campbell is currently studying business with a concentration in Hospitality and Resort Management.

Amstutz also acknowledged the dedication of Kitchens, who is retiring after 44 years with the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia, the lobbying organization that represents his industry in the state.

“Fred Kitchens, Jr. has been a great friend to the College for many years and an energetic supporter of scholarship recipients in their academic pursuits,” said Amstutz. “We are grateful to Fred and to the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia Foundation for their generous support of students through this scholarship.”

Also on hand for the reception were Tiffany Davis, a former Foundation scholarship recipient and current Associate Director of Residence Life and Housing/Deputy Title IX Coordinator, and Dr. William “Skip” Mounts, Dean of the School of Business.
