The Department of Nursing and Health Sciences will host its annual pinning ceremony on Friday, May 22, starting at 6 p.m. This year’s event will be a virtual ceremony on Zoom. Graduates from each program—Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), and Associate of Science in Radiologic Sciences (ASN)—will be recognized in this time-honored tradition that welcomes them into the healthcare profession.

The ceremony will feature remarks from President Michelle Johnston; Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Johnny Evans Jr.; and Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences Dr. Lydia Watkins. A student representative from each program will address their peers to share words of encouragement and express hopes for the future.

Although the ceremony is virtual, graduates are still able to participate in one of the most special moments of the ceremony—the pinning. Students have submitted video of themselves being pinned by family and friends, which will be shown during the broadcast. The Florence Nightingale pledge and Radiologic Science pledge will also be recited, as students commit to the welfare of those in their care.

Students, faculty, staff, and local community members are invited to join in the celebration. To join the pinning ceremony on Friday:
