This month, College of Coastal Georgia students and parents are getting some very good news for their bank accounts. The University System of Georgia has announced that tuition for students at the state’s public colleges—including Coastal Georgia—will not increase in the 2018-2019 academic year.

While the College’s tuition is already well below the state’s annual in-state college tuition (which was $10,055 for the 2016-2017 academic year), the news is still very welcome, says Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Jason Umfress.

“We are fortunate to have a tuition that is lower than many other colleges across Georgia and around the nation. But we know that the cost of tuition is still a significant hurdle for many would-be students,” said Umfress. “We are always looking for ways to make a Coastal Georgia education more affordable. In addition to increasing the number and amount of scholarships and helping students to explore all of their financial aid options, maintaining tuition rates is a valuable piece of that puzzle.”

What has been increasing at Coastal Georgia over the past several years is enrollment. This year, the College once again achieved record enrollment, the fourth consecutive record-setting year.

“The College has so much to offer students, from top-notch academic programs, to competitive athletics, to a beautiful campus, to a close-knit community,” said Interim President Meg Amstutz. “Our desire is to invite an ever-increasing group of students to benefit from a Coastal Georgia education. Keeping tuition costs low makes the College even more attractive to current and potential students.”

The College is currently enrolling students for both the summer and fall semesters. Those who wish to learn more about the College can contact the Office of Admissions at 912-279-5701 or admiss@ccga.edu.
