Four College of Coastal Georgia athletic teams were earned NAIA Scholar Team distinction for the 2017-18 academic year. Volleyball, men’s golf, men’s tennis and women’s tennis were among the 1,862 teams nationwide to be named a Scholar Team.
To be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, teams must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale as defined by the institution. The grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Women’s tennis led the way with a 3.09 GPA. Men’s golf, men’s tennis and volleyball each had a 3.01 GPA.
