The College of Coastal Georgia continues to make waves in the world of cybersecurity education with all six of its student cyber defense teams finishing in the Top 10% of the Spring 2025 National Cyber League (NCL) competition. Out of 4,779 teams nationwide, Coastal Georgia’s squads demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, strategic thinking, and delivered strong performances.

Each team’s placement within the top 10% reflects the College’s growing reputation for excellence in cybersecurity education and hands-on training.
The NCL competition challenges students with real-world scenarios in cryptography, network traffic analysis, password cracking, and more—preparing them for careers in cyber defense and information security.
Dr. Nelbert St. Clair, associate professor of cyber defense and faculty mentor for the teams, praised the students’ achievements.
“These results are a testament to the talent and tenacity of our students,” St. Clair said. “They’ve shown that with the right guidance and a strong work ethic, even a small college like Coastal Georgia can compete with the best in the nation. I couldn’t be prouder of their performance.”
