College of Coastal Georgia housed various campaigns Thursday to raise awareness for AIDS and breast cancer.

The NAMES Project Foundation Aids Memorial Quilt was on display at the campus center.

The quilt was brought to the campus with the help of the PFLAG Brunswick organization, who worked with the NAMES Project Foundation’s Florida Chapter.

The Georgia Coastal Health District also offered free and confidential HIV/AIDS testing in the campus center library Thursday.

The quilt will be on display through Friday when a closing ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Also on Thursday the College of Coastal Georgia men’s basketball team raised funds for the battle against breast cancer by holding the inaugural College of Coastal Georgia all campus De-FEET Breast Cancer walk – an approximate I-mile walk around campus – which was open to the public.

They also sold pink breast cancer bracelets.
