College to Host 2016 International Festival

The College of Coastal Georgia Division of Student Affairs and International Initiatives are partnering again this spring with the Robert S. Abbott Race Unity Institute, Inc. to produce the 5th annual International Festival, one of the most popular community events held on the Brunswick campus. This year’s festival will occur on Friday, April 22 from 2-7 p.m. with Kidfest activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. The CultureEXPO, Marketplace booths, Global Food Bazaar, and performances will be staged outside Southeast Georgia Conference Center.

Entertainment includes a Celtic Duo, “Steel Away” drummers, African Dancers and Drummers “Straight from the Mothaland”, the CCGA Dance Team and “Lanakilas”, a Polynesian performance.

Among the cuisines one may sample in the Global Food Bazaar are Filipino, Mexican, Italian, Argentine, German, Jamaican, and Korean– plus cupcakes. Earthly Expressions Jewelry, Olive Affairs, M. K. Wellington Arts, and Belham Herbals are among the Marketplace vendors.

In addition to celebrating diversity, we will be celebrating Earth Day. We will have booths and activities that support Earth Day initiatives.
