College selects Kevin Salaway to serve as Vice President for Advancement

Brunswick, GA – A national search for one of the top administrative positions of the College of Coastal Georgia, Vice President for Advancement, has successfully concluded with the selection of Kevin Salaway. Mr. Salaway will join the Coastal Georgia staff on January 1, 2017.

“I’m very excited about Kevin joining us and know he will make a difference in the lives of Mariners in advancing the College of Coastal Georgia. He brings rich and diverse experience to our team,” said College of Coastal Georgia President Gregory Aloia.

Prior to accepting the position at Coastal Georgia, Salaway served as Director of Development and University Relations for ten years and Director of Institutional Advancement for three years at The Pennsylvania State University in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He brings with him 36 years of professional experience in university relations, branding, marketing and fundraising from Nabisco Brands, Inc. in East Hanover, New Jersey, and Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. in Dallas, Pennsylvania.

He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Penn State University, Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania, and the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Salaway earned an MBA in Marketing Management from the University of Scranton, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from State University of New York at Binghamton.

During the search process, Dr. Tracy L. Pellett, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, served as Interim Vice President for Advancement for part of the 2015-2016 academic year. “Based on my experience with the Foundation Board this past year and in chairing the search committee that helped select Mr. Salaway, I am convinced that Kevin will provide excellent Advancement leadership and be a good fit for our institution,” stated Dr. Pellett.

Jack Kilgore, Chair of the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation Board, stated that he was “delighted that Mr. Salaway is joining the CCGA team and looks forward to his leadership in advancing our college. I know I speak for all of our foundation trustees in welcoming Kevin and pledging our full support.”
