Brunswick, GA – As part of the University System of Georgia’s (USG) SPIRIT of USG Week during International Fraud Awareness Week, Nov. 16-22, 2014, the College of Coastal Georgia is hosting a series of activities to promote fraud prevention awareness and education.

“Dedicating a week to bringing awareness to the USG’s culture of recognizing the hard work of all employees, and promoting shared values of integrity, excellence, accountability and responsibility while preventing fraud will help reaffirm our commitment to good stewardship,” said John Fuchko, University System of Georgia chief audit officer and associate vice chancellor for internal audit. “USG faculty and staff have an ethical responsibility to practice sound financial decision making.”

The theme “SPIRT of USG” (Stewardship, Prevention, Integrity, Responsibility, Inspiration, and Trust) guides the activities planned throughout the week and educational materials have been developed to emphasize the week’s primary focus to create greater awareness at each of the USG’s 31 institutions.
