The College of Coastal Georgia has made institutional history with a record-breaking fall enrollment record of 3,839 students.
The institution surpassed its previous all-time enrollment record of 3,663 students, set in 2016. Compared with Fall 2025 enrollment of 3,629 students, this year’s record enrollment represents a 5.8% increase. Through strategic efforts focused on affordability and student success, the campus community is celebrating 14 consecutive semesters of enrollment growth.
“This record enrollment reflects the growing confidence students and families have in the College of Coastal Georgia and the life-changing opportunities available here,” said President Dr. Johnny Evans Jr. “Our faculty and staff have remained deeply committed to student success while creating pathways that make attending college more affordable and accessible. Reaching this milestone is a testament to their work.”
The College’s continued growth is also reflected in its largest dual enrollment class to date, with 564 high school students enrolling from across the region and state taking courses at Coastal Georgia. The total eclipses last year’s record of 502 students, marking the second consecutive year of record-breaking dual enrollment. At the same time, the College is home to its largest-ever residential population, with residence halls fully occupied and additional accommodations secured through partnerships with local hotels and apartment complexes.

“We know college is better by the beach, but students aren’t just choosing Coastal Georgia for our location. They are choosing us because they see a college that delivers value, personal attention, and meaningful outcomes,” said Dr. Jason Umfress, vice president for student affairs and enrollment management. “The continued growth in both traditional and dual enrollment students demonstrates that our message is resonating across Georgia. We are proud to welcome this record-setting class and remain committed to supporting every Mariner on their path to graduation.”
As Coastal Georgia continues to expand enrollment, college leaders remain focused on ensuring students have access to the academic resources, housing opportunities, and support services needed to thrive. The record-setting fall semester underscores the institution’s growing impact as a regional leader in higher education and its commitment to preparing students for success in the workforce and beyond.
