Coastal Georgia Men’s Golf Trio Earns NAIA PING All-South Region Honors

MOLINE, Ill. – A trio of Coastal Georgia men’s golfers were named NAIA PING All-South Region on Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Lauri Hacklin, Mark David Johnson and Kyle Kidd were among the 15 All-Region selections for the South.

Hacklin, Johnson and Kidd are among the five Mariners currently competing at the 67th Annual NAIA Men’s Golf Championships.

In the latest Golfstat Individual Rankings, Hacklin is No. 11 nationally with a 72.41 scoring average. During the spring season, Hacklin’s had five rounds under par, including his most recent being a 3-under 68 during Round Two at the NAIA Championships on Wednesday. He won the 7th Annual Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational, and then finished second at the USCB Sand Shark Invitational in the spring.

In his first year as a Mariner, Johnson has two individual titles under his belt – the 8th Annual Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational and The Sun Conference Championships. Johnson ranks No. 9 nationally with a 72.23 scoring average. He tied Coastal Georgia’s lowest round to par record during the spring’s first competition by shooting a 7-under 65 at the 8th Annual Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational. Prior to today’s round at the NAIA Championships, Johnson has carded eight rounds under par thus far in the spring.

Kidd ranks No. 29 nationally, averaging 73.19 for his score. He’s carded seven rounds of par-or-lower during the spring tournaments. Both He’s finished in the Top 5 in three competitions this season, including the 8th Annual Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational, the Georgetown College Invitational and the Tri-Match that feature play against NCAA Division I and Division II golfers.
