The National Cyber League (NCL) recognized Assistant Professor of Cyber Defense Dr. Nelbert St. Clair and his students from the College of Coastal Georgia for their efforts during the NCL Fall 2022 competition season.

Students’ performance in both the individual and team-based events elevated Coastal Georgia to place 34th nationally in the Cyber Power Rankings amongst 470 colleges and universities. The College is the highest ranked institution from Georgia in the competition.

In a letter to St. Clair, NCL Commissioner Dr. David Zeichick wrote about the students, “Their collaborative effort and dedication to the NCL competition is worthy of praise and recognition. It is with our highest recommendation that your students be recognized for their admirable achievement that showcased individual skills, collaborative performance, and desire to grow and learn as cybersecurity professionals.”

Zeichick also recognized St. Clair for his “dedication, support, and encouragement that has enabled the success of your students.”

The NCL, powered by Cyber Skyline, is a cybersecurity skills competition designed to contain real-world cybersecurity tasks that professionals perform daily, reinforce learning, and develop students’ necessary skills for the workforce. Students also earn a skills report that recognizes their abilities and can be shown to an employer to demonstrate the student’s readiness for the job—further bridging the gap from curriculum to careers.
