The third annual Coastal Accounting and Finance Day, hosted by the Department of Business and Public Administration, was held Oct. 21 at the Southeast Georgia Conference Center.

Coastal Accounting and Finance Day provides employers with an opportunity to meet and interview upperclassmen majoring in accounting, as well as students concentrating in finance and other business disciplines. The event serves as a valuable platform for connecting talent with career opportunities.

The College welcomed representatives from nine companies, three graduate schools, and more than 40 students for networking, interviews, and a professional luncheon. Twenty-three students received private interviews with representatives from four firms.

Also in attendance were seven college alumni representing their employers and meeting with prospective candidates. Those alumni included Katelyn Johnson and Alex Julian of Symphona; Jennifer Wood of Armanino; Haley Miller of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center; Abby Morgan of Southeastern Bank; and James Furness and Zach Thompson of South Coast Bank. Their participation highlighted the event’s growing impact and created a full-circle moment for Coastal Accounting and Finance Day.

As the event continues to grow, Coastal Accounting and Finance Day strengthens connections between students, alumni, employers, and graduate programs, helping prepare future business professionals for successful careers while expanding opportunities throughout the region.
