The Sun Conference tabbed senior forward Brianna Gipson as the league’s Player of the Week after her performance against #23 Milligan College.

The Brunswick native scored 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the game, leading the Mariners to a rout of previously unbeaten Buffaloes.

Head coach Roger Hodge said, “I’m very happy Brianna was named Player of the Week. Her effort and performance was outstanding and I couldn’t be happier for her and our program.”

He continued, “Bri has worked very hard to elevate her game and it is good to see some of that effort paying off. Not only is this honor well deserved for Bri, it is also a product of how our team is growing as well.”

Gipson is averaging 17.3 points per game this season while grabbing an average of 9.1 rebounds per contest. Her shooting touch has been solid, connecting on 88-of-208 attempts for a 42.3 shooting percentage.

Gipson and the Mariners will take a short holiday break before returning to action on January 3 at home against Ave Maria.
