Brunswick, Ga., March 23, 2018 — The following is a statement from College of Coastal Georgia Interim President Meg Amstutz regarding the passing of former Georgia Governor Zell Miller:
“The College of Coastal Georgia joins with those across the state in mourning the passing of Governor Zell Miller. He cared deeply about this state and its young people, and through HOPE laid a pathway to higher education for millions of Georgians. We at Coastal Georgia will remember Governor Miller both for his dedicated support of Georgia’s colleges and universities as well as his faith in the futures of our students.”
Governor Nathan Deal has ordered all state buildings and grounds to fly the American flag and state flag at half mast from today until sunset on Thursday, March 29 in honor and memory of the late Gov. Miller.
