The College of Coastal Georgia will host its eighth annual campus-wide undergraduate research conference in-person on Mon., May 2 at the Southeast Georgia Conference Center from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Collaborative Explorations (SOURCE) highlights students’ faculty-mentored research and scholarship.

Many students have already presented their projects at regional and national professional conferences. SOURCE gives them the opportunity to share their work locally with their peers, family, campus and local community. For first-time presenters, students will gain experience in presenting their research and receive feedback which can lead to further research and discussions.

Interim Director of Service-Learning and Undergraduate Research Dr. Cody Cocchi is excited about SOURCE and the opportunities of undergraduate research at the College.

“This year represents the largest poster presentation display in the history of SOURCE,” Cocchi said. “What gets me excited about this event is the culmination and celebration of the hard work of the students and their faculty research mentors. In many cases, students are not only presenting this work here at the College of Coastal Georgia, but all over the U.S. and even internationally. Compiling and disseminating this research is one of the foundations of higher education, and sharing this knowledge is what will help this College and Golden Isles community thrive—now and in the future.”

SOURCE will feature approximately 50 posters, two interactive digital displays, and oral presentations. The collaborative research efforts between students and faculty across disciplines will be available for students, faculty, staff, and the community at-large to explore.
