The Coastal Georgia Alumni Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of our alumni, showcasing their dedication to their professions, communities, and alma mater. Being nominated is a mark of distinction, reflecting the nominee’s impact and commitment. Winning any of our prestigious awards places recipients among an elite group of individuals who embody the values and spirit of the College of Coastal Georgia. These annual awards highlight the remarkable stories of our alumni, inspiring future generations to strive for greatness.
This is your chance to recognize those individuals who have made a lasting impact, and showcase their outstanding contributions to their fields. Nominations close on September 1, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to celebrate our incredible alumni.
The award ceremony will take place on October 25 as part of our exciting Alumni Weekend celebrations. It’s an event you won’t want to miss – a chance to reconnect, celebrate, and support the remarkable individuals who have excelled in their careers and communities. The Honorary Alumni Award is the most prestigious recognition awarded by the Alumni Association.
Criteria: Individuals who are not graduates and have not attended the College of Coastal Georgia who have made significant contributions to the College’s welfare, prestige, and reputation.
Number of Awards: A maximum of two Honorary Alumni Awards may be presented each year. This award is not required to be presented every year.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes College of Coastal Georgia graduates or former students who demonstrate significant accomplishments in their business or professional lives as well as distinguished service to their university, community, state, nation, or internationally. Celebrating professional, philanthropic, and personal achievements, the Distinguished Alumni Award honors the College of Coastal Georgia’s outstanding alumni who made a pivotal impact.
Eligibility:
- Nominees must be alumni of the College of Coastal Georgia or one of its legacy institutions.
- Nominees should have demonstrated outstanding professional accomplishments.
- Nominees must have made significant contributions to their community.
- Nominees should have shown ongoing support of the College of Coastal Georgia.
The Alumni Mariner Spirit Award recognizes alumni who exemplify school spirit both on and off campus. They may participate in College of Coastal Georgia campus activities, alumni activities, community events, and may be seen wearing Mariner colors or College of Coastal Georgia-themed gear. They advocate for all things College of Coastal Georgia and build morale within the Mariner Family, both near and far. Mariner Spirit Award nominees should be a shining example of dedication and commitment to the mission of the College and the Alumni Association. The nominee must have a degree or certificate of completion to be eligible for the award.
Eligibility:
- Nominees must be alumni of the College of Coastal Georgia or one of its legacy institutions.
- Nominees must embody the Mariner Mission and show Mariner pride.
Number of Awards: One alumni shall receive the Alumni Mariner Spirit Award each year.
We are proud to present the “Mariners on the Horizon” award, recognizing exceptional Mariners who have exemplified Mariner pride in both their personal and professional lives. Mariner pride embodies a steadfast commitment to lifelong learning, enriching the lives of others and themselves, and contributing positively to the community. This award celebrates those who have achieved remarkable success in their professional careers, made significant contributions to the community, demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, and shown immense potential for future impact.
Criteria:
- A recent graduate of the College of Coastal Georgia
- Alumni who have achieved early success and inspired other Mariners to pursue greater success in their personal and professional careers.
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and potential within their field.
- Contributed to the growth of the campus and community through the investment of time, talent, and resources.
