What programs are offered through Coastal Online?

Current programs offered through Coastal Online include:

Bachelor of Applied Science in Workforce Management & Leadership

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Workforce Management and Leadership expands the technical abilities of professionals who already hold an associate of applied sciences degree. It equips them with the leadership and management skills they need for career advancement. Graduates leave the program ready to lead competently and efficiently – not only highly-trained technicians, but also as effective mid-level managers.

Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business

As long as businesses exist, the Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business will remain in demand. This degree offers adult learners the opportunity to complete their education online and quickly apply their coursework to real-world business environments.

Bachelor of Science in Public Administration

Key public and private partners from the Coastal region helped shape the Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. This program prepares students to manage and lead dynamic government and nonprofit organizations. Rare among bachelor’s degrees and unique to Southeast Georgia, it offers training in management and decision-making skills that support a wide range of organizations and complex policies.

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Promotion gain a broad understanding of health and disease concepts. They also explore legal, ethical, and diversity issues in healthcare, as well as health informatics, nutrition, and education methods. Graduates pursue careers such as community health consultant, health benefit navigator, health educator, health promotion specialist, healthcare administrator, and more.

Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies

The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies offers a unique learning experience with maximum flexibility. Students design a program that fits their skills, interests, and prior coursework. This option benefits students with previous college credits across multiple subjects, but it also appeals to freshmen who want to build an individualized program of study. Students can choose concentrations in Business, Communications, Culture, Education, Health Science, Social Science, and Technology – or combine multiple areas.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics develops students’ understanding of the concepts and structures that underlie mathematics. It equips them with the practical knowledge they need to apply mathematical ideas and techniques to real-world problems.

Nursing (RN to BSN)

The RN to BSN program helps associate degree nurses earn their bachelor’s degree. As healthcare grows more complex, many nurses seek additional education. This program deepens their knowledge in disease processes, evidence-based practice, professionalism, ethics, informatics, community health, and leadership. Graduates advance their nursing careers or continue on to graduate studies.

How much do Coastal Online classes cost?

U.S. News & World Report named the College of Coastal Georgia one of the most affordable online colleges. We bill tuition for Coastal Online classes at the same rate as on-campus classes: $109 per credit hour for in-state students. Students pay only one additional fee, a $280 Coastal Online fee.

Are all of these programs 100% online?

Yes. From your first class to your last, you can complete all course requirements online.

Do the online classes meet at a certain time?

No. Coastal Online classes are “asynchronous,” which means students log in and complete the work on their own time.

How long will it take me to complete my degree?

While it depends on a number of factors, we design all Coastal Online programs to be self-paced. Students wishing to complete their programs as quickly as possible may finish in a few semesters, while those who need to take things at a slower pace may take a little longer. Your Coastal Online academic advisor will discuss your goals with you and help you design a plan that fits your goals and timeline.

Will I need any special equipment to take classes in Coastal Online?

Coastal Online students are responsible for securing access to their own computers and reliable access to the internet. We are happy to provide some recommendations for you on what technology works best via our TechSTART page.

What’s the difference between an online class and an in-person class?

Online learning can be very rewarding. It is ideal for students who need flexibility in terms of time and space. You can literally engage in your coursework from anywhere at any time. However, it does take more discipline and concentration at times. In-class learning can be engaging, but obviously, less flexible. At Coastal, however, no matter which option you choose, you will have the support of your faculty member, your Mariner Success Crew, the ATTIC, your academic advisor, and your Coastal Online team to help you get connected with the help you need.
