Marketing Analytics

The Marketing Analytics concentration focuses on developing an understanding of how consumer behavior data analysis guides the formulation of effective marketing strategies.

Why study Marketing Analytics at Coastal Georgia?

The practice of marketing today is largely data-driven, and, as such, is appropriately found in data science applications. Under the guidance of faculty in data science and marketing, students who study within the Marketing Analytics concentration will be well-prepared to make data-driven decisions and communicate them to stakeholders. With service-learning and internship opportunities, students will be able to apply their skills even before graduation.

We prepare students for the practical skills they need. It’s not all about research and theory.

  • Resume-boosting skills: Our graduates will know R and python as well as data cleaning, visualization, and modeling.
  • Careful analysis: Our students learn to handle, prepare, and interpret data carefully to avoid bias and “lying with statistics.”
  • Data communication: Our graduates will know how to professionally communicate the power and limitations of their analyses.

What will I learn?

In addition to the core data science courses, the Marketing Analytics concentration provides students with the health informatics background necessary to formulate effective marketing strategies. The courses that cover these concepts include Principles of Accounting, Principles of Marketing, Integrated Promotion, Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior, Global Marketing, and Marketing Strategy.

What can I do when I graduate?

Marketing Analytics students will be highly-competitive in the marketing job sector. With a foundation in both data science and marketing, students can pursue careers in research, consulting, marketing, and business, with salaries upwards of $100,000.
