5th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Set for Oct. 23

The College of Coastal Georgia will host the 5th annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes® event on Thursday, October 23, bringing together student, faculty, staff, and community members to take a stand against domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence.

Organized by the Office of Residence Life and Housing, Walk A Mile in Her Shoes® is a fun and engaging community event that invites men to walk a symbolic mile in red high heels to foster empathy and spark dialogue around the challenges faced by survivors. The Walk will take place on the pedestrian mall between the Clara Wood Gould Library and Hugh and Miriam Nunnally Hall.

Event Details:

•             Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

•             Walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

•             Red high heels provided on a first-come, first-served basis

•             Campus and community members are welcomed to watch and join in the Walk.

The Walk also coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will feature local advocacy organizations including the Glynn Community Crisis Center, Safe Harbor Connie Smith Rape Crisis Center, Georgia Legal Services, local law enforcement representatives, and other local resources.
