Advancement OfficeThe Advancement Office of the College of Coastal Georgia promotes the work of students, faculty, and the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation internally within the College community, including alumni, and externally to the community-at-large. Functionally, the Advancement Office is responsible for alumni affairs, development, the College Foundation, marketing/public relations, and external relations.
Alumni affairs is the connection with College alumni: establishing lasting relationships, maintaining awareness through regular communication, networking with and through alumni, and building lifetime goodwill.
The work of development relates to the mission of the College Foundation: securing funding and resources from corporations, foundations, and private donors to support the College in providing a quality education. Successful development translates into student support and scholarships, capital and technological improvements, academic and institutional support, and community outreach programs.
The Advancement Office supports the College Foundation by managing the comprehensive campaign, major gifts, planned giving, and donor recognition/involvement programs. Receptions and other special events sponsored by the College Foundation are coordinated and staged by the Advancement Office
Marketing/public relations include brand management, marketing support, advertising, publications and communications.
Brand management articulates a strong and consistent representation of the College vision, mission, and message in all internal and external interaction, including logo use and standards. The Advancement Office staff serves as the information officers of the College.
Marketing manages creative development of advertising and marketing campaigns, including brochures and other printed pieces; facilitates student recruitment; publicizes on-campus programs and activities; and promotes the work of the Foundation.
Successful public relations result in strong relationships with the regional news media and favorable public perception of the College.
Publications and communications create an integrated, multi-media representation of the College. The Advancement Office is responsible for maintaining compelling website content, producing monthly e-newsletters for alumni, trustees, donors, retirees and friends of the College (Mariners Connection, Alumni Connection), producing a bi-monthly e-newsletter for faculty and staff(Campus Connection), publishing the College of Coastal Georgia magazine, and publishing the annual report.
External relations establish purposeful, beneficial relationships with community partners, education leadership, and legislators to keep them informed and invested in supporting the College.
