Post-Baccalaureate (Additional Degree)

The College of Coastal Georgia will admit applicants who have earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution to enroll as post baccalaureate, degree-seeking students. Applicants in this category follow the same admission procedures as transfer applicants.

How to Apply for Admission

ADMISSION STEPS

  1. Apply Online: Complete the admissions application.
  2. Application Fee: Pay the $25 nonrefundable application fee or upload an acceptable fee waiver as you submit your application.
  3. Submit your college transcripts: Coastal Georgia accepts transcripts through electronic transcript services such as Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, GA Futures, etc. Please do not fax or email transcripts. If not sent electronically, college transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution. They will not be considered official if submitted directly from the student. To order transcripts, refer to the Registrar’s website at your previous institution.
  4. Submit your high school transcript (if applicable): Coastal Georgia accepts transcripts through electronic transcript services such as GA Futures, Parchment, or Scoir. Please do not fax or email transcripts. You may mail your transcripts or drop them off in person. They will be considered official as long as they remain in the original, sealed envelope from the school.
  5. Verification of lawful presence: If you want to be considered for in-state tuition or receive financial aid, please submit your verification of lawful presence.
  6. Check your admissions status: This status will reflect information we have in our records. You will be able to learn of your admissions decision as soon as it is made without having to wait for an official email or admissions letter.
  7. Complete the FAFSA: Start the financial aid process to determine financial aid eligibility. Learn more about financial aid and scholarships here.

Post Baccalaureate Requirements

To gain regular admission, applicants must:

  • Graduate (earn a bachelor’s degree from) and submit official transcripts from all previous institutions.
  • Provide proof of a baccalaureate degree at a regionally accredited institution. Note: This is satisfied through submission of official transcripts.
Amendment 23: 62 or Older Program

Georgia Residents 62 years of age or older may utilize the Amendment 23 enrollment and tuition waiver pathway once admitted to the College as a degree seeking or non-degree seeking student. The Amendment 23 program allows Georgia Residents over the age of 62 to enroll in state colleges or universities on a space-available basis, tuition free, except for supplies, laboratory or shop fees.

To be eligible for enrollment under the Amendment 23 provision, applicants must:

  • Be residents of Georgia, 62 years of age or older at the time of registration, and shall present a birth certificate or other comparable written documentation of age to enable the institution to determine eligibility. Please note, students will be asked to complete an Amendment 23 waiver form after acceptance.

Degree-Seeking Amendment 23 Students:

If you are seeking a degree or course credit, you must first apply online and submit the $25 application fee and meet all requirements based on your classification (freshman, transfer, post-bac).

Non-Degree Seeking Amendment 23 Students:

If you are auditing as a 62+ student, apply online and submit the $25 application fee and have official transcripts sent from the last college attended.

After Acceptance

As a newly accepted adult/non-traditional student, complete the following steps to confirm your enrollment and claim your spot.

Adult/Non-Traditional Freshman

  1. Register for orientation (required for all new freshmen).
  2. Apply for scholarships and financial aid (optional).

Adult/Non-Traditional Transfer

  1. Complete the Newly Admitted Student Advisor Connection Form. You will receive a link to the form in your email. After completing the form, either your COMPASS advisor or your faculty advisor will reach out to you about creating your first semester schedule.
  2. Apply for scholarships and financial aid (optional).
