Important Safety Message

Email sent at 4:27 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

I am pleased to share that the secondary check of both the Brunswick and Camden campuses has concluded, as you may have seen from the Nixle message sent earlier this afternoon. Law enforcement did not find any suspicious packages or credible threats to our safety. Campus operations will continue as scheduled. Many thanks to Campus Police and our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners for their quick response.

As always, thank you for staying vigilant, and “if you see something, say something.” Take care!

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

As you may be aware, the local 911 Call Center received an anonymous report of a suspicious package on both our Brunswick and Camden campuses. Similar reports have been made to other colleges, universities, and organizations across the state today. Campus law enforcement responded quickly and are being supported by local, state, and federal authorities. An initial check of all campus buildings resulted in no suspicious packages being found and no credible threat to the safety of the campus. Out of an abundance of caution, a secondary check, with specially trained K-9s, is currently being conducted. We ask that the campus community cooperate with law enforcement as they continue their work.

At this time, College operations will continue as normal. Additional updates will be forthcoming. Please monitor your campus email and Nixle text messaging alert system. If you have not already, please sign up for Nixle alerts by texting CCGA to 888777.

Thank you for always staying vigilant, and “if you see something, say something.”
