Nursing Department to Host Pediatric Training Workshop for Public Health Nurses

The Department of Nursing will host a pediatric assessment training workshop entitled, "Everything You Wanted to Know About Pediatric Physical Assessment and Communication Techniques for the Public Health Nurse" on Thursday July 11 and July 25 on the College's campus.Beverly Rowe, RN, MSN, CNE, associate professor of nursing in the College's Associate of Science in Nursing program, will be leading the workshop.

Niki Schmauch, coordinator of Academic Services for the College of Coastal Georgia's Academic Tutoring and Instruction Center, was recognized for her contribution to the third edition of the Course-Based Learning Assistance Best Practice Guidelines, which guides peer student programs at college campuses across the United States and abroad.

Coastal's Johnson Receives Nicklaus Award at Sunday Ceremony

College of Coastal Georgia golfer Mark David Johnson was presented with the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award in a ceremony at Murfield Village Golf Club. Johnson, who won this year's NAIA individual national championship, was one of five collegiate golfers receiving the Nicklaus Award as the top player in the various divisions within college golf.

College of Coastal Georgia golfer Mark David Johnson was presented with the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award at Murfield Village Golf Club. ohnson became the first Coastal Georgia golfer to win the NAIA individual crown when he prevailed in a three-man sudden-death playoff by making a birdie on the first playoff hole. The Coastal Georgia senior helped the Mariners to a runner-up finish as a team at Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., giving them their fourth top-five finish in the last six NAIA national championship tournaments. Coastal Georgia won back-to-back national team titles in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

The College of Coastal Georgia will celebrate the 50th graduating classes of the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and Associate of Radiologic Sciences programs this May. Both the ASN and radiologic science majors have been fixtures of the institution from its days as Brunswick Junior College to its current identity as the four-year College of Coastal Georgia.
