College Faculty and Staff to Showcase Scholarly Work for the Golden Isles Community

The 2nd annual Coastal Scholars Showcase will return this year to highlight the work of faculty and staff at the College of Coastal Georgia who have continued to contribute to and remain engaged in their fields of study. The showcase invites faculty, staff, students, and community members to not only see the work of participants but ask questions and provide feedback. The 2020 Coastal Scholars Showcase will be held Thursday, February 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on campus at the Southeast Georgia Conference Center, and Friday, February 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., also at the Conference Center.

Coastal Students Participate in St. Marys Scarecrow Stroll

Emily Boyle's English Composition II class represented the College of Coastal Georgia and the Camden Center at the Scarecrow Stroll on Sunday, October 20. Boyle is an English lecturer for the College at the Camden Center. Her class is a service-learning course that explores how art can build community. The class connects readings and writings to real-world concepts and current events.

Students to Showcase Cooking Skills for Local Food Bank

Students at the College of Coastal Georgia will show off their culinary skills and food knowledge at the 6th Annual CHEM 1100 Cook-Off to benefit America's Second Harvest Food Bank. The cook-off will be held Wednesday, June 26, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the College's Campus Center. The event is open to the public, who can sample students' dishes.

Cook-Off for American's Second Harvest Names Three Winners

The 5th Annual CHEM 1100 Cook-Off for America's Second Harvest featured culinary using ingredients from the food bank warehouse. Attendees donated $1 to try the food and vote for their favorite. The winner of the contest was Robert Rome whose LOCO COCO pot de creme earned him first place.

Chris Campbell will graduate on May 13 in front of his family and friends, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration in hospitality and tourism. In 2015, Campbell earned his associates of applied science in culinary arts. His goal is to one day open his own restaurant back home in Preston, Georgia. Campbell hopes to be an example for youth in his hometown and inspire them to chase after their dreams.

Kids in College, the College of Coastal Georgia's longstanding summer enrichment program, will return to the Brunswick campus and Camden Center this June and July to provide a unique, fun experience for elementary and middle school students.
