Cook-Off for American's Second Harvest Names Three Winners

The 5th Annual CHEM 1100 Cook-Off for America's Second Harvest featured culinary using ingredients from the food bank warehouse. Attendees donated $1 to try the food and vote for their favorite. The winner of the contest was Robert Rome whose LOCO COCO pot de creme earned him first place.

College of Coastal Georgia culinary students will host the 5th Annual Cook-Off to benefit America's Second Harvest Food Bank. The cooking contest will be held Wednesday, June 27, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the College's Campus Center and is open to the public.

Chris Campbell will graduate on May 13 in front of his family and friends, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration in hospitality and tourism. In 2015, Campbell earned his associates of applied science in culinary arts. His goal is to one day open his own restaurant back home in Preston, Georgia. Campbell hopes to be an example for youth in his hometown and inspire them to chase after their dreams.

The College of Coastal Georgia's Center for Service-Learning is hosting its sixth annual Service-Learning Symposium on Monday, April 23 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Southeast Georgia Conference Center. Service-learning is a combination of academic course content and relevant community service projects that allow students to apply the knowledge and skills they've learned in the classroom out in the community. The symposium will feature an awards ceremony and poster showcase where students, faculty, and community partners will discuss how service-learning projects and research directly impacted the Brunswick-Golden Isles community.

College of Coastal Georgia Recognizes Student and Faculty Achievement at Honors Day program

Friends and family were on hand to see recipients accept certificates and awards honoring their academic achievements and scholarship.
