What is covered in the training?

This session includes useful tips such as:

The class is designed for faculty and staff wanting to explore some useful Microsoft Word tricks.

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one-on-one or in groups. of up to 8 people.

Microsoft Excel Basics

MICROSOFT EXCEL BASICS

What is covered in the training?

This session will cover Microsoft Excel basic topics including:
  • Excel look and feel.
  • Entering data.
  • Formatting cells.
  • Performing operations.
  • Using Formulas.
  • Creating Graphs.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for faculty and staff interested in using Excel on a daily basis. No Excel experience is required.

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one-on-one or in groups of up to 10 people.

Microsoft Excel - Using Pivot Tables

Microsoft Excel - Using Pivot Tables

What is covered in the training?

This session will cover advanced topics such as

  • Creating a pivot table
  • Editing and filtering a pivot table
  • Using calculated fields on a pivot table (percentages, averages, etc.)
  • Using Slicers
  • Using PivotCharts

This course is designed for users with basic experience with Excel.

Office 365

Office 365

What is covered in the training?

Office 365 is an online multifunction productivity suite offered to all faculty, staff, and students by the College of Coastal Georgia. It can be used to create and store files online to use anywhere you have an internet connection. This session will cover the following topics:

  • How to access Office 365
  • Quick review of available online apps:
  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • Excel
  • OneNote
  • Outlook
  • OneDrive
  • Forms
  • Sharepoint
  • How to use OneDrive to store files and share files internally/externally
  • How to install Office apps for offline usage

Who should attend?

This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to use the online features of Microsoft’s Office 365 products, create files on the go, and how to store and share files online.

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one-on-one or in groups. It can take place anywhere there is a computer with internet access. Initial training usually takes about an hour to an hour and half.

INFORMATION SECURITY

What is covered in the training?

This session includes important security topics such as:
  • Information Security Policies, Standards and Guidelines, and the need for cybersecurity awareness
  • Data Governance and Management
  • Importance of Personal Information Security
  • Threats to Cybersecurity and Incident Reporting

Who should attend?

This session is designed for faculty, staff and student workers. Participation in Information Security Training is required once a year.

Qualtrics

What is covered in the training?

Qualtrics is a powerful web-based survey tool available tool available to faculty, staff, and students. This session will cover Qualtrics basic concepts including:

  • Setting up your Qualtrics account
  • Creating a new survey project
  • Most commonly used question types and their appropriate uses
  • Skip logic, display logic, blocks, and branching
  • Preparing the survey for distribution
  • Simple reports of results

This course is designed for faculty and staff, and students who plan to utilize surveys in their work or research

Argos

ARGOS

What is covered in the training?

Argos is an enterprise reporting tool. This session will cover Argos basic concepts including:
  • What is a datablock?
  • Obtaining results
  • Filtering, sorting and exporting data
  • What is an OLAP cube?

Who should attend?

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one-on-one or in groups.

Finalsite

What is covered in the training?

FinalSite is the College of Coastal Georgia's content management system. This session will cover the following topics:
  • Accessing and using FinalSite
  • Using Page Manager to:
    • Edit existing pages
    • Create new pages
    • Insert and edit images, video and text
    • Link to URL’s, pages, files, media and anchors
  • Using File Manager to upload and manage various file types
  • Using Calendar Manager to create, edit and publish calendar events

Who should attend?

This course is designed for anyone who has been authorized by their supervisor to create, edit or publish webpages.

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one on one or in groups. It can take place anywhere there is a computer with internet access. Initial training usually takes about forty five minutes to an hour.

Classroom Technology

CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

What is covered in the training?

Most classrooms on campus work in the same way, but there are a few special circumstances and quick fixes for common problems. Subjects covered will include:

  • Classroom computers
  • Interactive Presentation Boards (SMART and/or Team Board brands since we have both on campus)
  • Classroom presentation/control systems
  • Document cameras
  • Quick fixes for common problems such as display settings, blue screens, input selections, and volume

Who should attend?

This course is designed for anyone who teaches, presents, or often uses any of our classrooms and control systems on campus.

What is the format?

Training can be delivered one on one or in small groups. It can take place in any of the classrooms on campus. Initial training usually takes about 30-45 minutes.
