Foundations of Excellence®
The College of Coastal Georgia has been selected to participate in "Foundations of Excellence® (FoE) in the First College Year" -- a partnership with the Policy Center on the First Year. FoE is a guided, intensive, self study of all aspects of the first college year.
The self-study is based on an institutional assessment model that includes nine Foundational Dimensions® each identifying characteristics of excellence in the first year of college. The nine Foundational Dimensions® are (1) Philosophy, (2) Organization, (3) Learning, (4) Campus Culture, (5) Transitions, (6) All Students, (7) Diversity, (8) Roles and Purposes, and (9) Improvement.
For the 2009-2010 academic year, the Policy Center accepted 11 four-year institutions that applied for participation in the Foundations of Excellence® through a competitive application process.
