After he left the Navy, he headed straight to College of Coastal Georgia. The rankings factor in the results of Military Times' annual survey, the most comprehensive school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services and rates of academic achievement.

Joey Matheny '16 earned college credit for his experience as a combat medic which applies to his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. Not only did that experience as a veteran put him closer to his goal – a career in health care – but it also helped to shape his life.As a high school student in Shelby Township, Michigan, he planned to go to Michigan State and play football. Then 9/11 happened.

CCGA part of border state waiver tuition fee program

Prospective college students from three of Georgia's bordering states are being drawn to College of Coastal Georgia by an out-of-state tuition waiver. College of Coastal Georgia began offering the equivalent of in-state tuition to residents of Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina who meet the requirements for admission.

The almost 3,000 who perished at the World Trade Center, Pentagon and in the wreckage of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa., isn't just a grand figure, said Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering, lead speaker for the remembrance ceremony.
