Nothing is more dreaded to a freshman college student than gaining the "Freshman 15" (or Sophomore or Junior or Senior). And with September quickly giving way to October, Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks will be here in the blink of an eye.
Don't fret; we've got you covered. Introducing The Brig, our new functional fitness facility located in the north end of the SAC. It houses a multi-function rack with a heavy bag, battle rope, infinity rope plus TRX capabilities as well as kettlebells, core bags, agility ladders, rowing machines, tires, plyometric boxes, a 50-foot-turp strip and more.
"The addition of The Brig as a fitness center reflects a continuation of our commitment to our students to provide outstanding facilities that promote their health and wellness while they are pursuing their degrees. It is also an affirmation of our student services, staff and leadership," said CCGA President Gregory Aloia.
In addition to The Brig, the Fitness Center features cardio equipment, free weights and exercise machines by Cybex, Nautilus and Strive. For those who prefer to workout with a certified instructor, fitness classes are available throughout the week in multiple disciplines, including yoga, Zumba and bootcamp-style exercises. If additional training is wanted, email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment.
The fitness center is free for all students and full-time faculty and staff. Patrons must present a valid CCGA ID to gain access to the center. The Brig's hours of operations are 10 am to 8 pm Mondays through Fridays, 9 am to 12 pm Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.
The Fitness Center is open from 8 am to 9 pm Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:20 am to 9 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 am to 7 pm Fridays, 10 am to 2 pm Saturdays, and 2 pm to 6 pm Sundays.
