Freshman Admissions Pathways

Congratulations on taking the next step to furthering your education! The College of Coastal Georgia is a state college and a member of the University System of Georgia. CCGA is an open-access institution which allows entry for students of every type. We are a medium sized college with average freshman class sizes of 40 students and a student to teacher ratio of 23:1. One of our most popular features is that our beautiful campus is just a short 15-minute drive from the beach! Please, explore our three Freshman Admissions Pathways and see which one is right for you!

Traditional Freshman Admission Pathway

A Traditional Freshman is a student that has graduated high school within last five years. Typically, this group is composed of high school seniors and first-time students that have not attended a college or university. By pursuing admission through this pathway, we will review both the high school GPA and SAT or ACT test scores. For the Traditional Freshman Admissions Pathway requirements, please visit the Freshman Admissions Requirements page.

Accelerated Admission Pathway

The Accelerated Admissions Pathway allows traditional freshmen with a high school academic GPA of 3.0 or higher to be admitted without the submission of test scores. Once admitted through this pathway, students can still apply for housing, complete financial aid, and register for orientation classes. Before enrollment, students should submit national SAT or ACT test scores. CCGA will provide an institutional SAT before the start of the Fall Semester for students who have not taken the national SAT or ACT. For the Accelerated Admissions Pathway requirements, please visit the Freshman Admissions Requirements page.

SEASTAR Pathway

The Student Entry and Access for Student Traction and Retention program (SEASTAR) is a Conditional Admission program that provides students with the tools and skills necessary to succeed at the College of Coastal Georgia. SEASTAR is for students whose test scores fall between the University System of Georgia’s minimum requirements and CCGA’s minimum requirements.

SEASTAR Students will meet with their advisor regularly to keep them on schedule and to choose the right classes for success. Students will also receive coaching from faculty and staff on leadership, financial literacy, and study skills. SEASTAR students will also have Student Mentors. These Mentors will communicate on a regular basis to assist new students and provide information, insight, and motivation for success. For the SEASTAR Pathway requirements, please visit the Freshman Admissions Requirements page.
