Attendance Verification

To ensure compliance with state and federal financial aid guidelines, a new process has been implemented for students receiving financial aid refund checks beginning Summer Semester 2006. Financial aid refund checks will be available at the Business Office only after your attendance has been verified by your instructor(s) in at least 6 (six) credit hours (Second session classes are excluded unless all of your classes are second session. If all of your classes are during the second session, those classes will have to be verified before your check will be available.). If your total enrollment is less than 6 credit hours, your attendance must be verified in all classes before your refund check will be distributed.

Below are examples on how this new procedure will work:

Scenario 1.
Jane Doe is enrolled in 12 credit hours for the Summer Semester.

Class.............Credit hours
ECON 2106......3
CITP 1010.......3
MATH 2112......3
PSYC 0100......3

In the above scenario, Jane would be able to receive her financial aid refund check after her attendance has been verified in at least 6 credit hours.

Scenario 2.

John Doe is enrolled in 5 credit hours for the Summer Semester.
Class............Credit hours
GLOB........... 2
GEOG........... 3

In this scenario, John would be able to receive his financial aid refund check after his attendance has been verified in both classes since he is enrolled for less than 6 credit hours.

Scenario 3.

Joe Public

Joe Public is enrolled for 8 credit hours for the Summer Semester. 4 credit hours will be taken during Session One and 4 credit hours will be taken during Session Two.

Class..............Credit hours
MATH 0097.......4(Session One)
MATH 0097.......4(Session Two)

In this scenario, Joe would be able to receive his financial aid refund check after his attendance has been verified in his first session class. Second session classes are ignored.
