Long Term Disability Insurance

An employee must be totally disabled for a period of at least 90 days in order to be eligible for benefits. The two options of Long Term Disability coverage are 90 days or 150 days waiting period. The monthly income benefit is 60% of the base salary at the time the employee becomes disabled. Visit the Hartford website for more information. If an employee wishes to have seamless coverage for both short term and long term disability, the 11 week option of short term must be selected with the 90 day option of long term disability. The 20 week option of short term must be selected with the 150 day option of long term disability.
