About the College
The College was founded in 1961 as Brunswick College. In 1996, its name was changed to Coastal Georgia Community College to
reflect a change in mission. Effective July 1, 2008 the newly named College of Coastal Georgia began its transition to a
four-year institution. Baccalaureate degrees in education, business and nursing sciences are scheduled to begin as early as fall 2009.
