Tutor Employment

The Academic Tutoring and Instruction Center, The ATTIC, at the College of Coastal Georgia, is certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Tutors are the heart of academic tutoring and instruction. Our tutors help students one-on-one or in small study groups not only with what to learn, but how to learn. The ATTIC is always looking for top-notch individuals to work in our student-centered facility. Our center offers tutor positions to qualified College of Coastal Georgia students.

Tutors help students with mathematics, English, chemistry, Calculus, and other academic subjects. Tutors usually work with individual students but may also tutor small groups. Peer tutors must meet the all standards set by CRLA. They must attend mandatory training, have at least a 3.0 GPA as well as a minimum of 15 semester-hour credits for college-level courses.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting students with subject specific problems and questions
  • Helping students develop better study and organizational skills
  • Helping students to access additional resources or services when appropriate
Qualifications:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • A or B in the subject(s) tutored
  • Faculty recommendation
