Student Concerns Committee

Mission

The Student Concerns Committee was established to maintain open lines of communication with the student body and administration as well as off-campus community members. The goal of the committee is to serve as the board to hear and resolve any student issues brought forth and ensure that each student is heard. This committee also addresses issues in regards to facility improvements for the interiors and exteriors of campus facilities (e.g. student buildings/areas, landscaping, artwork, stairways, hallways, lounges, Student Activities Center, etc.). For academic issues, we encourage you to first meet with the faculty member about a course level issue. If the issue is unresolved after speaking with the faculty member, the student can meet with the appropriate school dean. Academic Affairs has mechanisms in place to hear and address your concern appropriately. The Student Concerns Committee will address issues outside of academic affairs. For more information, please see the student catalog.

The committee receives concerns through the e-mail system on campus, and it is the responsibility of the members to voice the concerns of the student body to the committee. This committee will work with the administration to address concerns. The committee will also aim to fulfill the needs of the students by offering programs and services in diversity, academic integrity, and health and wellness initiatives. This Student Concerns Committee falls under the direct oversight of the Student Government Association and College administration.
