Freeman named to All-American team

Brunswick, Ga. – College of Coastal Georgia student-athlete Dylan Freeman (Dinos Scholarship) has been named to the NAIA Ping All-America Second Team which was announced late Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The junior golfer for the Mariners was among the 34 total players chosen for the three teams. Eleven golfers were named to the first team, 10 to the second and 13 to the third.
Freeman, who earlier was named Player of the Year for the Southern States Athletic Conference, was among three SSAC players named for the second team. The others were Matt Emery (Lee University) and Daniel Jansen (Faulkner University). Brandon Godwin (Faulkner) and Hunter Vest (Lee) were named to the third team.
This past season, Freeman won two fall tournaments to give him three career wins at Coastal Georgia. He also recorded three other top-five finishes during the year. Freeman finished with a school-best 72.95 scoring average for the season.
He was also named to the SSAC All-Conference First-Team and was selected as the Coastal Georgia Men's Student-Athlete of the Year a second straight year.
Freeman recently qualified for next month's Georgia Amateur Championship. He also is scheduled to compete in the local Golden Isles Invitational during the Fourth of July holiday at the Brunswick Country Club. Freeman finished second at last year's tournament.
