Welcome to the College of Coastal Georgia. All across this vibrant, dynamic campus you will see and feel the positive effects of new and renovated facilities, expanding scholarship funds, and countless innovative program initiatives. The volume and creativity of student involvement in an array of community service venues are inspiring.

Our goal is to ensure that your college experience provides a host of new opportunities and knowledge for you and that you successfully complete your chosen degree program. Our faculty and staff are fully committed to your success.

Service-learning, our signature academic initiative, focuses on experiential application and community engagement to enhance learning outcomes. It connects theory with real-world practice. Embedded throughout our curriculum and required in every discipline, service-learning produces action-oriented students who will literally change the world.

We have implemented a wide range of innovative cultural and artistic programming. The new Huie-Wilcox Gallery houses the College's permanent collection of art, Coastal Visions. The new Stembler Theatre hosts an international film festival as well as themed series celebrating multicultural history, social and economic issues, literary explorations, and more. Dramatic performances, inspirational speakers, and diverse concerts are punctuated by students' own coffeehouse entertainment talents.

We continue to develop our athletic programs. This year marks our first to compete for tournament play in the NAIA and Southern States Athletic Conference. We have exciting intercollegiate teams who are to compete at the highest level. Additionally, we offer a range of intramural sports programs.

We are excited to continue our partnership with the Jekyll Island Authority. All of our full-time students will be provided with a special membership pass for Jekyll Island, giving students full privileges to Jekyll Island for the academic year. Expect to enjoy student life programming, athletic events, and plenty of academic enrichment opportunities on the island, which is known as Georgia's "jewel". Our students have the distinction of being the only students in Georgia with their very own beach!

Teaching and learning are the primary emphases of our campus and, as such, the construction of The Correll Center for Teacher Education and Learning speaks to the very soul of who we are. This 32,000-square-foot-complex, scheduled to open in January 2013, will house the School of Education and Teacher Preparation, the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the new Writing Center.

Like The Correll Center, the Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Health and Science Building, which opened in January 2011, is designed and built using strategies to achieve high performance in key areas of health and science, environmental efficiency, water savings, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.

Serve. Learn. Succeed. Your college years should be a time to investigate new horizons and experiences. In the classroom and the community, on the athletic fields, and with student organizations, you are encouraged to take an active role in building your College of Coastal Georgia and realizing your Dreams in Action.
