College Adds First Coach Since Expanding Athletics

It was his first day on the job and new College of Coastal Georgia golf coach Mike Cook was already hard at work, showing off the campus to a potential recruit.

"I showed him what I knew," Cook said.

Cook, a golf instructor and assistant professional at the Sea Island Company since 1992, agreed to become the college's golf coach on Friday. Cook will work part-time with the school and retain his job at Sea Island. Cook will be in charge of building the Mariners' men's and women's golf teams, which are slated to begin play this fall....(read more)
