Michael B. Johnson, CHA is the Vice President of St. Simons Island Resort Operations, for the MMI Hotel Group, Mr. Johnson is responsible for directing the operations of The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort as well as The Hampton Club. Mr. Johnson presently serves the local community as a member of the Steering Committee of the UGA Archway Partnership Project, a parent representative on the Glynn Academy School Site Council, and as an appointee to the ESPLOST Citizens Oversight Committee. In July 2009, he will complete his two-year term as Chairman of the Brunswick & Golden Isles Convention and Visitors Bureau, but will continue serving on the Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee as Vice Chair of Education. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Maine and holds the Certified Hotel Administrator designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Mr. Johnson is married to Julie Goeldner Johnson and they have two daughters – Meg, a senior at Glynn Academy and Catie, a senior at UGA. He is an active member at St. Simons Presbyterian Church and has served as deacon and elder.
