David A. Zimmerman has spent over 36 years as a tier one supplier in the automotive business. In recent years he was a partner in LPS, llc (an automotive consulting group) and before that a top executive in Lear Corporation and TRW.
From 1995 to 1999 he represented Lear Corporation as their Director of International Business Development. Located in Turin, Italy he negotiated,
implemented and managed operations in Russia, Brazil, Argentina, and Poland.
In the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's Mr. Zimmerman was involved with automotive safety, specifically in the engineering and manufacture of seatbelts and airbags for the Vehicle Safety Systems Division of TRW. He served as Vice President of Engineering, Inflatable Restraints, Operations, and finally Marketing and Business Planning for the TRW safety restraints division.
Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) and prior to that the American Seatbelt Council (ASBC) as well as SAE and the Society of Automotive Analysts. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in Industrial Management and attended the Advanced Program at Columbia University . Mr. Zimmerman is fluent in Italian and is married with two children.
