Mrs. Anita A. Timmons is currently a General Partner of Taj Enterprises, Investments, St. Simons Island, Georgia. Mrs. Timmons is a retired CEO and Owner of a travel company and a former primary school educator. Included in her early work experiences are: The Huntington Herald Press, Huntington, IN; Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., Fort Wayne, IN and Washington, DC; and Reynolds & Company (Commodities), NYC.
She has had extensive experience in the volunteer sector beginning with chairing the Huntington County (IN) Teens Against Polio organization when she was fourteen. She has served in a variety of leadership capacities on a number of boards, among them: Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, N. H. (Founder’s Day Award May 1998 and Chair of the Committee on Trustees), Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, N.J (Vice President Volunteer Committee), New Jersey Chamber Music Society, Montclair, N.J. (Trustee and Benefit Chair), Montclair Kimberley Academy, Montclair, N.J. (President, Parents Association and Trustee), Whole Theater Company, Montclair, N.J. (Chair of Special Events and Benefits and Vice Chair of the Board) and Family and Children’s Services, Montclair, NJ (Trustee), Chair of the Sea Island Property Owners Association, Chair of the Foundation Board of the Coastal Georgia Community College and Vice Chair of the Advisory Council to the Anglican Observer at the United Nations, NYC.
Mrs. Timmons currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Coastal Symphony of Georgia; as a member of the President's Council of Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA and Trustee and Chair of the Philanthropy Committee of Columbia College, Columbia, MO.
The Timmons’s have recently built a new home on St. Simons Island overlooking the marsh.
