Committee Charge and Statement of Principles

Inaugural members are dues paying members of the College of Coastal Georgia Alumni Association who are invited to serve a one-year term, during which they lend resources and expertise, working closely with students, senior staff and other volunteers to develop and implement programs which fulfill the strategic needs of the school. To achieve this, Alumni Advisory Committee members agree to:
  • Serve a one year term, beginning January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.
  • Support the Alumni Association through payment of annual dues of $25.00.
  • Meet five times a year to establish the mission, vision, infrastructure and strategic planning of the College's alumni program. Meeting attendance may be in person or via electronic means. The first meeting is planned for January 21, 2011 at 3pm.
  • Meet one time per year with the Board of Trustees to engage in discussion and provide feedback on strategic matters.
  • Provide key alumni with the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the College of Coastal Georgia mission and to provide a gateway to a meaningful lifelong relationship with the school.
  • Advise and provide a critical review of the College's alumni program mix, progress assessment, new directions, and resource development.
  • Identify and secure commitments from no fewer than five alumni to become dues paying members of the College of Coastal Georgia Alumni Association.
  • Participate in the College's Annual Fund Campaign and encourage fellow College of Coastal Georgia Alumni to do likewise.
  • Organize and leverage the resources and energy of College of Coastal Georgia's alumni community toward the strategic priorities of the school.
  • Work to solicit funds for the Alumni Scholarship Fund as part of the 50th Anniversary Campaign.
  • Serve as a mentor to current and former College of Coastal Georgia students through on-campus participation in meetings, formally or informally, or networking once students leave the campus and move on to other educational or vocational pursuits.
  • Identify events and perhaps host or co-host regional alumni events in conjunction with the College's Alumni outreach efforts.
